well!
well been to the funeral and it was a nice send off seen people that i havn't seen for god knows how long.

A speech made by one of the officers was so good that it got a round of applause

As i sit here with a pint in my hand drinking to one of my friends. I can say that I have just done something that i thought i would never be doing again.

1 ironing a Army uniform
2 ironing the union flag

The reason i have just done this is because my friend I am drinking to has passed away and I was ironing the uniform he is going to be wearing and the flag that is going to dress his coffin on Wednesday.

I take it as a honor that I was asked to these simple tasks see a dear friend off for the last time will be moving enough on the day, but I raise my pint to him for the last tie and remember all the good things that have happened and the memories that will say with me and others for ever.

Well just got the news about one of my friends that had a brain tumor It has finally taken its toll on him and at 8.00 this morning he passed away. His life in the end was not very good as he didn't really know what was going on and was going through the motions.

Loft Conversion
Well they have finally arrived and going to start the loft after all the mucking about! We was give a date 3 weeks ago to start on a Monday but wasn't told until the Friday before that it was not starting as the builder was going on a surprise holiday!

We got told that they would be here by 8.00-8.30 so we could go to work but nope not until 9.00ish (traffic).

Unloaded the wagon with the materials so they are now in the drive under a cover. The scaffold "was" going to be erected and on with the loft. Notice i said was well came home from work (and that was a poo day) and no scaffold and workmen had gone home. I have had a look in the loft and what they have is about 2 hours work, but don't think they could get on with anything else with out the scaffold thou.

We shall see what tomorrow brings, scaffold maybe ? Lets hope the work is better than the planning

been out for a few beers
well ben out for a feww beers the first in god knows how long and he effect is taking its tole on me i must remebe rto take it a bit stedy in future

normal work
well i sent work an email today saying i was hoping to get back to work on the 4th Aug as pe rthe phone call i ad wiht the manager when I got back. The git didn't tell anybody so they have not sorted ot a van for me at all and no phone they are rusing around to try and do it for next riay so at leat iI have time to sort out my tools etc

away 6 months and nothing changes still could not get together for a good drink in a pub !!! tosser's

The heating system
Well all is well the new heating system is fired up and all running only a few things to sort out now:-
make good the new flue hole and the old one
run the expansion reliefs to outside
install a new door on the airing cupboard
put some more shelves in
erect the shed/playhouse when it gets here
paint daughters room the colour she wants ??
renew the landing floor boards
ooh and a new patio
and only one week then back to normal work. I s a husbands work never done ?

well I am finally Home :)
right well as the heading said i am home after being away for 146 days. The place i was is in my view the worst country in the world to spend time in at this time of year. On the day before I left it was 58C in the shade. Well when i got there i found out what i was going to do and that was my old job operating the refueling equipment, this was ok but all the documentation i have was at home because i was informed before hand ( good planning I think not)

And the country was Kuwait and Iraq

well life back to "normal" i have been given 20 days leave by the army which sounds good but if you had worked and had no leave for 6 months and then only get 20 days 4 weeks that really does'nt seam fair in my book seeing I would have had every SAT and SUN off in my normal job 8 days a month the maths do not add up in my books but hey what do I know.
Just that nearly all the people i have spoken to out there are going to tell the mod to poke the TA where the sun don't shine. So god help us if the PM sends us somewhere else look out everybody conscription looks like an option.

right enough of an rant have fun all i am trying to with my days off

home for the weekend
Well I didn't think it was going to happen but yes they gave us the weekend off I have to be back for 8.00 monday morning.

So after being home and going through all the good byes and crying just to come back and have to go through it all again :(

But this will be the last time I will be at home for a whiole so any time is good time.

well not here for long
Yes it has finally happened and maybe deep down i knew it would happen but hopes where high for it not to happen. my course was cancelled which I was meant to be on for 10 weeks and yes you guessed it I am on I flight to Kuwait between the 18th and the 21th May so that is next week so this could be my last post for a while. Th worst bit was having to tell Julie that I was going:) We have not told rebecca that i am going away for a longer time at least 2 months ( I think). I got another weekend off
This weekend I am at home for a while and it is a bank holiday :)
My bro in law has a caravan by Ringwood and he is letting us stay there this weekend. I am not sure exactly where it is but Julie knows.

Right on the work front more news the advance party is leaving on the 12th May to sunny places ( you can guess).
I have been told that my name has been penciled in for a course that is meant to start on the 12th may so fingers crossed all being well I will not be going with them, even thou I feel bad about this it is the best thing in the long rn for my family being new home.
The bad side to this is that things change and at the last moment and I have been told that if a "reg" comes out of recruiting and says that ha wants the course i am meant to be on then he or she will get it NOT ME and i will be going with the rest of them on me hols. The problem there is because I am new in to the reg and not trained I will be driving and I could end up anywhere they send me :(

Yes I have just had a lovely break with Julie and Rebecca we stayed in a log cabin in Dorset on haven holiday site. I would recommend it it is so peaceful there, swimming pool and ball play pen for the little one, an outside play area also.

The beer is not that cheap but seeing they have a captive crowd staying there.

Any way I have just phoned work to see what is goin on and I have been told that some of us are going on our hols to a hot place on the 9th May which does not leave much time at all really.

I hope that I am not going to be one of the choosen few but allegedly they need drivers and seeing I have a class 1 this could change things. I will find out tonight when I get back there.

Hope to keep all informed as and when things happen but its the silly £1 even 15 min thing in the bar tell they get the "internet/training " room sorted it is meant to open on the 2nd May ( I might get to use it then).

take care all I will be keeping low no matter when I end up.

For some unknow reason my frrnt door bell went off at about 06.00 this morning after i got up and went to answer it and found no one was there not to impressed at all.

BBq last night
Well after being away from life in general for a while the bbq last made a very nice change.

I had my first experiance of the xbox and liked it which i thought i wouldn't seeing that every time i had played game on my pc i was toal carp.
I might have to svae and get one and speak to some one nicely about where to get the games for etc and how to use it correctly ( looking towards btd ) :)

Well might have new internet access
when I was last at the camp I seen loads of new pc's being installed to the LRC now that is open all day when we are working and closed when we are not. what a cluster fook.

maybe that will change and lets hope there isn't one of thous k'in mil firewalls that block everything. So i can IRC on #Donkey and no where else.

Back there very shortly I have to be back by 7.30 in the morning because Julie has to go to work she will dropp me off tonight

well back here again and still not a lot of work to do at all!

the bad news is that I am most likely to be shipped out somewhere to get a sun tan and i do't want that at all I want to stay in the UK just for Julie's sake I don't know how she will be able to handle it ( time will tell ) as the saying goes.

right paying for this so time is money will post again when i can.

As a friend told me keep your head down say safe and get back home. this means more to me now then ever before. If you know me then this will make sence. sorry if it doesn't.

As this might be the last for a while I am trying to make the most of it and I have had a day out with Julie and Rebecca at Legoland. The weather was so nice for us just blue sky's and i have got slightly sun burnt.

right internet accesss my be limited from where i am being moved to it will be back to where i was beforeon the south coast and internet access will cos t me 1 pound fo 15 mins so i will not be able to update LJ but wiil try when i can

i have been given the weekend off so i will be at home to see wife and little one it will be so nice i am missing them and they are the same.
hopefully i will be able to see my mate and have a few drinks wih him this weekend after he lost his father last wedensday
